Manage Container Download Format

You can configure the download format of a container and select which format will be the default. You can view all formats, but you must have the correct permissions in order to edit them or see the activity log.

Formats inherited from the enterprise are marked with an Inheriting label.
  1. Right click on the container and select Configure > Container Download Format.
VFP displays the Manage Download Format window.
  2. Select the three-dot Overflow menu for a format to view how the format is structured, edit or remove the format, set that format as the default, or view the activity log.
If you remove the download format that you created, the download format that the container inherited from the parent enterprise will be set as the default download format.
  3. Select Add New to create a new download format.
  4. The name of the format should be a quick glance as to what the format requires.
  5. The description should explain what is needed for the file format.
  6. Choose the way the different positions should be separated.
  7. Enter each component position, the type of metadata for that position, and the maximum number of characters allowed for that position. Note: The maximum number needs to be between 1 and 500 characters. The maximum supported characters for a filename in some Windows configurations is 256.
