Accounting Module Shortcuts
Find keyboard shortcuts for working with screens and other elements in the interface.
Screens
Key | Description |
---|---|
F1 | Opens the Help topic for the current screen. |
F6 | Populates the field with the first value of a lookup list. |
F8 | "Pins" or "unpins" the Messages pane. |
F9 | "Pins" or "unpins" the All Tasks pane. |
F11 | Hides the toolbar and the window bar at the top of the screen. Press F11 again to re-display the toolbar and the window bar. |
Tab or Enter | Moves the cursor to the next field. |
Shift+Tab or Shift+Enter | Moves the cursor to the previous field. |
Ctrl+Tab | Displays the next window. |
Shift+Ctrl+Tab | Displays the previous window. |
Alt | Displays keyboard shortcuts for the buttons on the current screen. Press Alt and the underlined letter on the button to perform that function. |
Page up | Displays the previous tab or sub-tab. |
Page down | Displays the next tab or sub-tab. |
Ctrl+Home | Displays the Home Page. |
In a date field: | |
F4 | Displays the date picker. |
F5 | Enters the most recently used date. |
T | Enters today's date. |
+ | Adds one day to the date. |
- | Subtracts one day from the date. |
F | Enters the first day of the current month. |
L | Enters the last day of the current month. |
In a lookup field: | |
F4 | Displays the lookup list. |
F5 | Enters the most recently used value for the "entity." For example, if you save new customer ABC Hardware in the Customer screen and then go to the Project screen to enter a new project, you can use the F5 shortcut in the Customer field to automatically enter ABC Hardware as the customer. |
In a drop-down field: | |
F4 | Displays the drop-down list. |
Up or Down | Moves through the options in the drop-down list. |
In a checkbox: | |
Space bar | Toggles the checkbox. |
In a formatted text field or multi-line field: | |
Alt+Enter | Enters a line break. |
Grids
Key | Description |
---|---|
Ctrl+Down | Displays the card view for a row. |
Ctrl+Up | Hides the card view for a row. |
Insert | Inserts a new line in the grid. |
Ctrl+Insert | Inserts a child row into the sub grid (in other words, nested grid) for the selected parent row. For example, if you are using the Project Billing Details pop-up window in the Projects screen and you are tracking revenue by project cost code, you can use the Ctrl+Insert shortcut to add a new row into the nested cost code grid for a selected billing code. Or, if you are adding a distribution line to an invoice, you can use the Ctrl+Insert shortcut to add a new row into the nested tax detail grid. |
Down | If the last line in a grid is active, exits the grid. |
Ctrl+V | Pastes data copied from Excel into a grid in ProContractor when the columns in Excel match the columns displayed in the grid. |
Formatted Text Editor
Key | Description |
---|---|
F4 | Saves the contents of the formatted text editor and exits the window. |
F7 | Spell checks the text in the formatted text editor. |
Ctrl+Tab | Saves the contents of the formatted text editor, exits the formatted text editor, and moves the cursor to the next field. |
Shift+Ctrl+Tab | Saves the contents of the formatted text editor, exits the formatted text editor, and moves the cursor to the previous field. |
Esc | Close the formatted text editor without saving the changes. |
Left | Moves the cursor one character to the left. |
Right | Moves the cursor one character to the right. |
Up | Moves the cursor to the previous line. |
Down | Moves the cursor to the next line. |
Backspace | Deletes the selected text. If no text is selected, deletes the character to the left of the cursor. |
Delete | Deletes the selected text. If no text is selected, deletes the character to the right of the cursor. |
Alt+Enter | Inserts a line break. |
