Sort an Alternate

You can sort the records in the Alternates tab in several different ways.

You can sort any column in alphanumeric order. Double-click the header row of the column you want to sort. The sort indicator (a triangle pointing up) appears and the column sort from lowest to highest or from A to Z. Double-click the header row again to sort from highest to lowest or from Z to A.

Each alternate has three sort fields that you can use to sort the alternates in the Alternates tab. You can manually enter alphanumeric values for each of these fields in each alternate.

You can select to use a WBS code for one or more of the sort fields. In this case, you select the WBS code value to use in the field for each alternate. If you use a WBS code for a sort field, you cannot manually enter values in that field.

Once you have set the values for the sort fields, you can sort the tab from lowest to highest for the three sort fields. The primary sort field is Sort1; the secondary sort field is Sort 2, and the tertiary sort field is Sort3. The change orders are sorted on these fields, whether or not they are displayed.
