Modify a project by copying an existing project

You can copy project details (including cost types, billing formats, and budgets) from an existing project.

Open the Project screen.
Note the active company. If you want to change it, click in the header and select the appropriate company.
In the Project field, do one of the following:
- Enter the code of the project you want to modify and press Tab.
- Click to select the project you want to modify from a Lookup List.
Click Copy from Project.

In the Copy From Project Posting Type field on the Cost Codes tab, click to select the posting type of the existing project.

In the Project to Copy From field, do one of the following:
- Enter the code of the existing project you want to copy and press Tab.
- Click to select the existing project you want to copy from a Lookup List.
To copy cost codes and other related information, complete the fields as described on the Copy From Project popup window - Cost Codes tab.
To copy project billing information, complete the fields as described on the Copy From Project popup window - Project Billing tab.
To copy checklists, complete the fields as described on the Copy From Project popup window - Checklists tab.
Click OK to return to the Project screen.
Complete the fields as described on the Project Screen Field Reference.
Note: If the project has a large number of cost codes, the Cost Codes tab may take additional time to load. You can view and modify the project while the tab loads, but you cannot save the project until the tab had loaded.
Click Save Project.
Note: If the Lien Management Review Required checkbox for this screen is selected on the Lien Management Settings screen, you must view the Lien Notices tab before saving the entry.
