What's New in Traqspera 2024 R12

Modified: 9 Oct 2026 Traqspera Administration What's New Mobile

The 2024 R12 release of Traqspera includes a new dropdown field that allows you to switch between and test user roles. This release is available as of December 5, 2024.

New Features

New Dropdown Field for Testing User Roles and Permissions

New dropdown field at the top of the web application allows you to switch between user roles so that you can preview and test each role's access level and permissions.

Note: To view the new dropdown, you must have Manage Permissions enabled and also have permission to edit users.
  • The dropdown field displays with a white background when your assigned user role is selected. When viewing a user role in test mode, the dropdown field displays with a pink background.

  • After you select a role, the navigation changes to reflect the role's current permissions, and a pink bar displays across the top of the page to indicate that you are in test mode (does not apply to consultants).

  • Settings & Permissions are available so that you can modify a user role as needed. However, they display with a pink background if the role you are testing does not have permission to access these options (does not apply to consultants).

See Test User Roles and Permissions for more details.

Improvements

Employees

  • Added Default Passcode button to the Employee Management and Edit Employee pages:
    • On the Employee Management page, a pop-up window displays after you select Default Passcodes to provide more details and allow you to cancel without resetting any employee passcodes. If you select Update, you will reset all employee passcodes to the default configured in the setting Default Employee PIN.

    • On the Edit Employee page, selecting Default Passcode immediately resets the selected employee's passcode to the default configured in the setting Default Employee PIN.

  • Custom passcodes must now conform to the value or range configured in the PIN Length setting.

Timesheets

  • Added an Employee HQ filter to the Timesheet Summary, Timesheet List, Timesheet Export, and Expense Export pages.

  • Improved page loading performance when scrolling through larger datasets on the Timesheet Summary.

Application Settings

  • Renamed the setting Show LOA on LEMs to Show LOA on LEMs, Daily Reports, and Safety Reports. Updated the setting description to clarify that this setting applies to all three report types.

Self-Configuration Guides

  • Added a Test Roles button to step 2 of the Permission and Role Setup guide. Select this new button to test each user role that you have set up and confirm that each role has the appropriate access level.

Spectrum Settings

  • In Spectrum Export Override Setup, improved the error message that displays if a user leaves the Cost Center field blank when configuring Cost Center Override by Job / Phases.

Issues Fixed

Web

  • Administration

    • Duplicate employees were created if a user ran the employee sync manually or at around the same time as the automated employee sync.

    • The equipment sync failed if a piece of equipment included in the sync had an equipment type that was deleted in Spectrum.

    • Job phase descriptions imported from Spectrum were truncated if the description contained an apostrophe (') or quotation mark ("). All information following the apostrophe or quotation mark was missing.

    • On the Settings page, selecting the Job Rates / Per Diem link on the left side of the page resulted in a page not found error.

    • System administrators with the Manage Phase Code / Cost Type White List permission could not edit the Salary & Job Cost Transaction Allow List under Export Configuration Settings.

    • Under Export Configuration Settings > Equipment - Pay Type Mapping, if you mapped the equipment usage pay type (EU - Equipment Usage) after mapping any other pay types, equipment usage entries were exported to Spectrum with the wrong coding.

  • Forms

    • Users could not preview images attached to safety forms.

  • Time Off

    • Submitted time off requests were not showing on the Time Off Requests calendar and were not available for supervisor approval.

Note: Resolved in a hotfix after the R11 release.
    • When requesting time off, the total time off hours was calculated incorrectly if the user selected a clock time that resulted in a 30-minute increment. For example: 8:00 - 10:30.

    • On the Time Off Requests page, selecting the Date Range filter and then resizing the window could result in the date range calendar being hidden behind the Time Off Requests calendar.

    • On the Time Off Setup page, when the Time Off Request Mode was set to Types, users could not delete any time off type job mappings that were not in use.

    • If the Time Off Request Mode was set to Manual and you had pay type overrides for vacation, holiday, or sick time configured in Spectrum Export Override Setup > Pay Type Overrides By Phase Number, those mappings were ignored on time off requests. Instead, the time off request defaulted to unpaid time off.

  • Timesheets

    • If a crew timesheet had a default department and a user added an individual employee entry to that timesheet, the user could not save their changes.

Note: Resolved in a hotfix after the R11 release.
    • Crew leaders could view and delete crew timesheets they were added to as members (this issue affected both the web and mobile applications).

    • If a user selected either the Apply Daily Rollover or Apply Weekly Rollover buttons on a timesheet that had only union hour rules applied, overtime and double time were not rolled over correctly in all cases.

    • Timesheets would not print in full. Instead, only the portion of the timesheet within view on the screen would print.

Mobile

  • Forms

    • If you selected filters on a daily report (Daily Reports Filter field), those same filters were selected by default on safety forms (Safety Form Type field). Similarly, if you selected filters on a safety form (Safety Form Type field), those same filters were selected by default on daily reports (Daily Reports Filter field).

Note: Resolved in a hotfix after the R11 release.
    • Safety form attachments added on the mobile application were missing when viewing that same form in the web application.

Note: Resolved in a hotfix after the R11 release.
    • Safety form attachments were dependent on permissions configured for daily reports instead of permissions configured for safety forms.

  • Timesheets

    • When copying an expense entry from the past, files attached to the past entry were copied to the new entry.

    • Users could not complete or approve timesheets that included expense or equipment entries without labor entries.

    • Users could not add entries to a timesheet if the only approved entry on the timesheet was a time off request.

    • Crew leaders could view and delete crew timesheets they were added to as members (this issue affected both the web and mobile applications).

    • For iOS users, department information entered for equipment was missing after saving the timesheet (requires the setting Use Departments on Equipment).
