License Removal Prioritization
The Admin Console helps you manage license reductions during renewals, using automatic fallback logic and a defined priority order to reclaim them.
When an upcoming renewal requires a lower license count, the Admin Console automatically manages the reduction process to ensure minimal disruption to your organization's active workflows.
Minimizing Workflow Disruption
To protect active users, the system allows you to manually designate specific individuals for license removal. Because the system prioritizes protecting active accounts, it automatically applies a standardized fallback logic to fill any gaps between the number of users you select and the total reduction required to meet your new target.
License Removal Order of Priority
- Unassigned licenses: Licenses that are not currently assigned to any user.
- Pending Trimble IDs: Licenses assigned to individuals who have been invited but have not yet created their accounts.
- Manually selected users: Licenses held by the specific users you explicitly chose for unassignment.
- Random selection: If additional reductions are still required to meet your new total, the system selects remaining active users at random.
Tracking Your Reductions
When a license reduction is scheduled, the Admin Console dynamically calculates how many licenses need to be vacated. The system tracks your manual selections in real time and prompts you once you have designated enough users to satisfy the upcoming reduction target.
You can verify which users are scheduled for removal by reviewing the Notes column within the Assigned licenses table, located on your subscription's main page.
