The Settings page is where you can manage your settings for the Shared Object Model and remove it from the project.

These are some of the changes you can make on the Settings page.

Change the Feature Type Catalog

You can change the following configurations of the current Shared Object Model:
  • Type Catalog
  • Type Catalog Version
  • Coordinate System Units

Remove Shared Model

You can select Remove on this page to permanently delete the Shared Object Model and all its content for you and all project members. Removing the shared model cannot be undone.

Set Shared Object Model Permissions

Follow these steps to change the access permissions for a Shared Object Model.

You must be a Project Adminstrator in Trimble Connect for Browser to complete these steps.
Multiple user groups can work on one project in Trimble Connect for Browser. With permissions for the Shared Object Model, the accessibility can be restricted based on user groups, individual user accounts, or default settings applied to all users in the project. All other applications that access the Shared Object Model will enforce these permissions.

By default, the entire project team has Full Access.

Note: Restrictions that come with the application's license will always override the permissions granted here.
Note: The Project Administrator role always overrides these access rules so that users with that role always have Full access.

To change the access permissions:

  1. Go to Shared Object Model > Settings.
  2. Select User Permissions.
  3. Assign permissions using one or both options:
    1. In the Default access for project members field, select one of the following options.
      • Full Access: Users can view and edit the content of the Shared Object Model. This access level is the required level to Join the project from TC Object Manager.
      • Read-Only Access: Users can view the activities and content of the Shared Object Model model using the Task, Timeline, Workset and Settings pages (and Shared Object Model 3D View Extension).
      • No Access: This access level hides the Shared Object Model content for the users.
    2. In the Access for specific users and group field, enter a user or group then select the appropriate role from the dropdown.
      Note: When a user has conflicting access permissions from individual assignments and/or multiple group memberships, the highest level takes precedence. This means Full Access overrides Read-Only Access, which overrides No Access.
  4. Select Save.
