Snap in the Middle or End

Open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen.

Note: To open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen, click Estimating > Earthwork > Manage Earthwork Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Click Open Existing Job. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.
Select the Area tab, if it is not already active.
In the Active Layer field on the toolbar, click to select the layer on which you want to digitize.
Click Point or Trace on the speedbar to digitize the start of the new area.
Click Snap on the speedbar.
Click once inside a previously-drawn area. The new area will "snap to" the closest point in the area selected here.
Choose the point(s) to snap to from the Snap popup window. As you choose points in the Snap popup window the points and line segments are highlighted on the drawing.
Click OK.
Finish digitizing the new area, if necessary.
Click Finished on the speedbar.
Enter the appropriate information in the Area Properties popup, click OK. For more information, see Area Properties.
