Digitize a Vector-Based Length Item

Open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen.

Note: To open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen, click Estimating > Earthwork > Manage Earthwork Estimates in the All Tasks pane. Click Open Existing Job. Then select the job you want to open, and click OK.
Select the Len/EA tab, if it is not already active.
In the Active Layer field on the toolbar, click to select the layer for which you want to digitize a line.
Click Vector on the speedbar to enable vector functionality (if not already enabled).
In the vector layers window, select the vector layer(s) that contains the vectors you want to digitize.
Do one following to select the vectors within the line you want to digitize:
- Click Select on the speedbar, hold the Shift key, and left-click on each vector within the length item you want to digitize.
- Click Multi on the speedbar and left-click on each vector within the length item you want to digitize.
Complete the annotation by right-clicking or by clicking Finished on the speedbar.
Note: If you right-click when no vectors are selected, the vector closest to the pointer will be selected and digitized in a single step.
Complete the fields as described on the Digitize a Length.
