Fix the quantity of a cost item in the assembly so that the cost item will have the same quantity regardless of the quantity of the assembly.
Select the cost item, then click Fixed Qty
. The assembly quantity turns from black to red.

For example, use the fixed quantity feature to add the cost of a permit to the assembly. No matter what the quantity of the assembly is, you know that the quantity of permits for the assembly will always be 1.
