The factors of a cost item specify additional information about a cost item that is required to calculate quantities in the visual assembly. The factors required for each part depend on the part. The different factors for a part are already defined, but you can change the values of the factors for each cost item.
Note: To open a visual assembly, open a job in the Manage
Estimates screen (click in the All Tasks pane, select the job you want to open, and click OK), then do
one of the following:
From the Estimate tab, double-click on the visual assembly.
From the Takeoff tab, double-click on the takeoff item that represents the assembly, then double-click on the assembly name.
From the Catalog tab, open the Visual Assemblies folder and double-click on the assembly.
