The cost items that are available in the Lookup are cost items that have been individually added to the list from the current catalog. Some of the catalogs, such as the sample catalog included with the Estimating module, already have many cost items in each lookup list. If you are using a catalog you built from scratch, you will need to add the cost items you want to each lookup list.
You can open cost items from within the Lookup. This gives you an easy way to edit the cost item before including it in your Visual Assembly. Changes made to a cost item are valid for the current estimate only; they won't be saved to the catalog.
You can remove cost items that you no longer use from a Lookup list to make your list smaller and easier to use. This is especially useful if the default Lookup list is long and you frequently use the same few cost items for the part.
From the Estimate tab, double-click on the visual assembly.
From the Takeoff tab, double-click on the takeoff item that represents the assembly, then double-click on the assembly name.
From the Catalog tab, open the Visual Assemblies folder and double-click on the assembly.
