Modified: 7 Sep 2026 Viewpoint Estimating Estimating Help
  1. Open a job in the Manage Estimates screen.
  2. Open the Estimate tab.
  3. In the Filter field on the speedbar, click to select the filter query to apply to the estimate.
  4. In the Apply Filter To window, select one of the following options:
    • Estimate line items only – To apply the filter to individual cost items and assemblies only. Items in the assemblies are not included in the filter even if they match the filter criteria.

    • All cost items – To apply the filter to all cost items in the estimate, including members of assemblies. The assemblies themselves are not displayed.

  5. Click OK to filter the estimate. The estimate is filtered and the totals at the bottom of the estimate change to blue to denote that the estimate is filtered.
  6. In the Show field on the filter toolbar, select one of the following options:
    • Estimate line items only – To apply the filter to individual cost items and assemblies only. Items in the assemblies are not included in the filter even if they match the filter criteria.
