Import BIM files and add the cost items to the estimate in an existing job

  1. Open a job that you do not want to work with in the Manage Estimates screen.
  2. Click Estimating > Tools > Estimating Import/Export Tool in the All Tasks pane.
  3. From the Import tab, select Import BIM.
  4. Click OK.
  5. In the BIM Text Files Directory field, click to browse to the location of the text files.
    Note: You can import multiple BIM files at one time as long as they are in the same folder.
  6. In the Existing Jobs list, select the job to which you want add cost items.
  7. Select the Add items to existing job option.
  8. Click Import.
  9. Complete the fields as described on the Import a BIM File Screen Field Reference.
  10. Click Import.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Repeat steps 9 - 11 for each text file in the directory.
  13. Click Close.
