Create an association between an existing annotation and an existing item

You can associate an annotation to an existing cost item in the estimate, an alternate, or a change order.

Open a job in the Manage Estimates screen.
From the Takeoff tab, click Select on the speedbar.
Click on the annotation or annotations.
On the Estimate panel tab, Alternate panel tab, or Change Order panel tab, select the checkbox next to the item to which you want to associate the quantity of the selected annotation(s).
In the Update Quantity window, select one of the following options:
- None: No quantities are changed.
- Add: Adds the quantity to the estimate.
- Replace: Replaces the quantity in the estimate.
- Subtract: Subtracts the quantity from the estimate.
Select the Update Working Total checkbox to insert the quantity in the working total, if the units of the item and the working total are the same.
Click OK. If there are multiple items selected, you will need to repeat the process for each item.
Note: The item you are updating will be displayed in the window with the description and reference number.
