Add a new layer to your takeoff

Open a job in the Manage Estimates screen.
From the Takeoff tab, click Layers on the speedbar.
On the Job Layers tab, click Add.
In the Name field, enter a name for the layer.
In the Description field, enter an appropriate description for the layer.
Select the Show checkbox to make the layer visible.
Select the Default checkbox to include all future annotations on the layer. Note that you can have more than one default layer.
Select the Template checkbox if you want to include this layer definition in future jobs.
Click Add.
Click OK.
Repeat steps as needed for each template layer you want to add.
Click Close when you're finished.
Click OK.
