Conditionally replace data in a column

Modified: 7 Sep 2026 Viewpoint Estimating Administration Help

You can replace the text in a column based on the logical test. A blank value in the If True field will clear the value. A blank value in the If False field will leave the value as is. The value in the Logical Test field must match the entire value in the column in order for the test result to be true.

  1. Click the Data Manipulation drop-down menu and select Conditional Replace Field.
  2. In the Column field, select the column in which you want to conditionally replace data.
  3. In the Logical Test field, do the following:
    1. In the first field, click and select column for the logical test.
    2. In the second field, click and select the operator for the logical test.
    3. In the third field, enter the value for the logical test.
Note: The value in the Find Text field must exactly match the entire value in a field for that value to be replaced. For a case-sensitive replace, select the Match Case checkbox.
  4. Click OK.
