You must set the drawing scale and location before you digitize reference points.
Open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen.

Select the Takeoff tab, if it is not already active.

Set the drawing scale and location if they are not already set for the drawing for which you want to digitize reference points.

Click in the All Tasks pane.

Press the tip of the digitizer on the first reference point you want to digitize on the drawing.
Note: If you are going to use this with matchlines, this point
must also appear on another drawing you want to include in the job.

In the Name of reference point field, enter a unique name for the reference point.

Click OK.

Click OK.
