Join multiple vectors

Modified: 7 Sep 2026 Viewpoint Estimating Estimating Help
  1. Open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen.
  2. Select the Takeoff tab, if it is not already active.
  3. Click Vector on the speedbar to enable vector functionality (if not already enabled).
Note: For newly imported PDF files that contain vectors, the Vector tool is automatically enabled. If the Vector tool is disabled in a newly imported PDF file, then the file does contain any vectors.
  4. In the vector layer window, select the vector layers that contain the vectors you want to join.
  5. Click Estimating > Earthwork > Takeoff > Multiple Join in the All Tasks pane.
  6. In the Join Distance field, enter the maximum distance in feet or meters that can separate the lines to be joined.
Tip: You don’t have to click in the field before you start typing a value.
  7. Click OK.
  8. If you need to undo the join, press Ctrl + [Z].
Note: After joining vectors, you must right-click or click either Finished or Continue on the speedbar to create the annotation.
