Set the scale of a job when the scale is unknown

  1. Open a job in the Manage Earthwork Estimates screen.
  2. Click Estimating > Earthwork > Tools > Scale in the All Tasks pane.
  3. Select the Use metric measurements checkbox to use metric units for the drawing. Deselect the checkbox to use English units.
  4. Select Other as the Scale property.
  5. Click Compensate Scale for the horizontal scale.
  6. Enter the length of the longest known horizontal distance on the plan.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Press the tip of the stylus on one end of known distance, then press the tip on the other end.
  9. Click Compensate Scale for the vertical scale.
  10. Enter the length of the longest known vertical distance on the plan.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Press the tip of the stylus on one end of known distance, then press the tip on the other end.
  13. If you have already digitized drawings for the job, select the Convert job to new scale checkbox to convert the job to the new scale.
  14. Click OK.
