Add a New Device to the Project

You must add a mobile device to a project to be able to sync it to Field View.

The Field View app must be installed on the mobile device. The app can be installed through the app store for iOS devices. For Android devices, install from Google Play. See the Install the Field View App on an Android Device. Also review Compatibility with Operating Systems and Devices to ensure your device is compatible with Field View.
You can access multiple projects on a single device, but you must add the device to each project you want to sync to it. Make sure you are working in the correct project before you add a device.

If you selected the auto-download option for the project, users on devices assigned to the project can tap the project on the log in screen in order to download the project to the device. Otherwise, an enrollment code must be used. The enrollment code, including a QR code, is automatically generated once you add the device to a project. Scan the QR code with the device to complete the process.

  1. Select the menu icon in the upper left corner, then choose Project Setup. Select Devices.
  2. Select the Add New Device button .

    The Add New Device screen appears.

  3. Complete the fields as needed to be able to identify the device.
    The name of the device is system-generated and cannot be changed.
  4. (Required) In the Password field, enter the password used to access Field View on the device.
  5. Leave the Active checkbox selected.
    Note: The Device must be Active to use it for Field View. If you do not activate the device at this time, you can activate it later.
  6. Select Save.
    The Device Enrolment window appears, showing the device's enrollment code, expiration date, and QR code.
  7. If you want to print or create a PDF of the QR code, select the Print/Create PDF button.
  8. Select the Close button in the upper right corner to close the Device Enrolment window.
  9. From the device, tap the Menu button and then tap Settings.
    The Settings window appears.
  10. Tap the Scan Enrollment QR Code button.
    This step requires a QR code reader on the device.
  11. Use the barcode scanner to scan the enrollment QR code.
    The device automatically starts to sync. Once the sync is finished, the enrollment is complete and you can access the project on the device.
The device is added for the project.
