What's New in Field View 2025 R10

Modified: 10 May 2026 Viewpoint Field View What's New

The October release of Field View introduces the ability to create, save, and group different views of BIM models in both plan view and drawing calibrations, allowing users to easily access desired views without recreating them each time. To support this, we added new BIM View role permissions to manage who can create, view, or edit these views. We also updated the way the plan view acts with 3D models, allowing you to see the model in a full display and easily switch between the 3D view and the 2D view for added efficiency. Please note that we are ending support for older versions of Android and iOS starting with the R11 release in November.

BIM Views and Permissions

We added views to BIM models in both the plan view and drawing calibrations. You can now create and save different views of BIM models and group together views that share criteria. These views allow you to see what you want without having to recreate it each time.

To accommodate the new functionality, we added BIM View role permissions to control who has the ability to create views, or see or edit views created by other users.

3D Models in Plan View

When you select a location in the plan view geometry tree that contains a 3D model, the model will display in a full view instead of a thumbnail for enhanced visualization. In addition, we added a toggle icon that allows you to easily select the 3D or 2D model of a drawing. If you are in a 2D model and select the 3D view, Field View highlights the individual space or calibrated area of the 2D model to improve work accuracy.

End of Support for Android 7.1 and iOS 15

As of R11 2025, the minimum operating system requirements to install updates have changed to Android 10 and iOS 16. Users on older versions will still be able to use the app, but may not receive updates or access to new functionalities introduced in R11 and beyond.

Please note that while you are not required to upgrade your operating system immediately, remaining on an older version means you will eventually encounter in-app messages prompting you to update, which will not be possible without meeting the new OS requirements.

We strongly recommend upgrading to supported operating systems to ensure continued access to new features and to maintain security standards.
