Enable Multi-Factor Authentication

Once you download the authentication app to your smart phone, you'll log in to VFP to use the authenticator app’s built-in QR code scanner to scan a QR code to begin authorizing the MFA feature.

  1. Download a 2-step verification app to your phone (examples: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Authy).
  2. Log in to Viewpoint For Projects.
    The Select an Enterprise window appears.
  3. Select the Options tab and choose the View or Manage Your Personal Details link.
    The Personal Settings window appears.
  4. Under Options, select Enable Multi-Factor Authentication .
    The Multi-Factor Authentication SignUp window appears.
  5. Use the built-in QR code reader in your downloaded Google Authenticator (or other authenticating application) to scan the QR code on the Multi-Factor Authentication SignUp window.
    The authenticator provides you with a 6-digit code.
  6. Enter the 6-digit code into the Code field of the Multi-Factor Authentication SignUp window, and choose Submit.
    The MFA Enabled notification window appears.
Authentication is valid for 24 hours. After the 24-hour period, you will be required to enter a new unique 6-digit code (generated by the authenticator app on your smart phone) into the Code field of the Multi-Factor authentication screen.
