Setting the download format for files allows you to customise the requirements of the included data. There are several options available, or you can add your own. Selecting one of these formats overrides existing user and container settings.
- Select Personal Settings.
- Select the Custom Download Format checkbox. This activates the Custom Download Format option.
- Select the Custom Format Download option.
- VFP displays the Manage Download Format window. From here, you can create, edit, or set a download format.
- Select the three-dot Overflow menu for a format to view how it's structured, delete it, or set that format as the default.
- Select Add New to create a new download format.
- The name of the format should be a quick glance as to what the format requires.
- The description should explain what is needed for the file format.
- Choose the way the different positions should be separated.
- Enter each component position, the type of metadata for that position, and the maximum number of characters allowed for that position. Note: The maximum number needs to be between 1 and 500 characters. The maximum supported characters for a filename in some Windows configurations is 256.
