Modified: 13 May 2026 Viewpoint For Projects Project Management Document Management Workflows Help

Once you’re done working on your file in VFP, you can check it back in to Trimble Connect. This will also update the version of the file in Trimble Connect. You can also send new files to Trimble Connect. You must be logged in to both VFP and Trimble Connect before sending files.

  1. Open the folder where the file is published in VFP.
  2. Select the Mouse icon for the file to open the context menu and select either Checkin to Connect or Send to Connect.
  3. For multiple files, press the CTRL key and choose each file. Then select the Actions drop down menu and choose Integrate to Connect. Choose the files to integrate and select Integrate to Connect.
  4. If you’re checking in files back to Connect, VFP creates a new version of the files and displays a message saying the files were checked back in to Trimble Connect. Select the X to close the message window.
VFP removes the published mark in the Trimble Connect folder and Trimble Connect unlocks the files.
  5. If these are new files, select the project in Connect where you want to send the files. You may also have to select the region. Select the Connect folder and choose Send. If there's a message window, select the X to close it.
VFP sends the files to Trimble Connect.
Trimble Connect adds a VFP tag to the files. You may have to refresh the page in Trimble Connect to see the sent files.
