Set Up an Alternate Layout for Grid Timecards

When setting up Grid Timecard Layouts, you can set up an alternate row group for each grid timecard layout, allowing for two layouts per template.

Complete setup for a Grid Timecard Layout first.
  1. On the Manage Grid Layouts page, choose the existing layout that you want to create an alternate layout for.
  2. Switch on the Show Alt Row Groups toggle. Drag and drop fields into the Alt Row Groups section.

  3. Select Save Layout to keep your changes.
  4. Go to Grid Timecard Settings, and select the Web Layout that has the alternate layout you just set up.
  5. Assign the Employee Group for Alt Web Layout. Users in this employee group will see the alternate layout for the web layout indicated, while other employees who are not in this group see the standard layout.

    Note: Layout priority is driven strictly by Group Assignment. If a user is assigned to an Alternate Layout Group, the system will exclusively display the fields defined in the Alt Row Groups section. If no fields have been added to that section, the user will see a restricted view containing only the header information.
  6. Assign reviewers / approvers to whichever layout (standard or alternate) has the most fields so that they can see all fields to review them.
Note: Alternate layouts apply to Job Approval as well. When an alternate layout is available, any approvers who are members of the alternate layout group see the alternate layout in Job Time Approval.
