Automatically Number RFIs for a Project

You can have Viewpoint Team™ automatically generate RFI numbers to ensure the numbers are consistent within a project and, if you have the numbers generated the same way for every project, across projects.

RFI numbers can be based on the project or on the project and RFI type combination. The RFI number is assigned to the RFI when it is initially saved or sent.

You can also set RFI defaults from this screen. See Set RFI Defaults for a Project.

  1. From the home page, under Projects, select the name of the project you want to open.
    Alternatively, go to the main menu in the upper left-hand corner, select Projects, and then select the name of the project you want to open.
    The Dashboard for the project appears.
  2. Click the settings icon and select Project Settings.
  3. Click on the RFIs tab.
  4. Select the Enable automatic RFI number check box to have Viewpoint Team™ automatically assign a number for each RFI created on this project. Then select one of the following:
    • Select by project to have the RFI number based on the project number.
    • Select by project and type to have the RFI number based on the combination of project number and RFI type.
  5. Click Save Changes.
RFIs for the selected project will now be numbered automatically.
