The following is a list of field descriptions for the HQ Super Funds form. Many of the descriptions include links to other topics that provide additional information about or related to the topic.

Fund

The Fund field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Required.

Enter a code up to 20 characters that uniquely identifies this fund, or press F4 for a list of existing funds.

Name

The Name field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Enter a name for the superannuation fund. This name is used in the contribution file; make sure to consult with the bank or organisation on the proper fund name.

Contact / Phone

The Contact and Phone fields on the HQ Super Funds form.

In the Contact and Phone fields, enter the name and the telephone phone number of the contact person at the bank or organisation that holds the superannuation fund.

Address

The Address field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Enter the address of the superannuation fund.

ABN

The ABN field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Enter the fund's Australian Business Number.

Fund Type

The Fund Type field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Select the fund type. All new and existing Fund records will default to the APRA fund type.

  • APRA: The standard fund type. When selected, it enables the Unique Fund ID (USI/SPIN) field and disables and clears all SMSF-related fields.
  • SMSF: A specialized type that requires specific banking and digital address information. When selected, it enables the Self-Managed Super Fund group box fields and disables and clears the Unique Fund ID field.

Unique Fund ID (USI/SPIN)

The Unique Fund ID (USI/SPIN) field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Enter the fund ID for this fund, up to 30 characters. This ID is generally designated by the fund.

Each fund ID must be unique, and not have been assigned to any other superannuation fund.

BSB Number

The BSB Number field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Active when the Fund Type is SMSF. The Bank State Branch (BSB) number is a six-digit code used to identify the specific bank, state, and branch where an account is held across Australia.

Account Number

The Account Number field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Active when the Fund Type is SMSF. Enter the account number for the self-managed super fund.

Account Name

The Account Name field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Active when the Fund Type is SMSF. Enter the account name for the self-managed super fund.

Electronic Service Address

The Electronic Service Address field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Active when the Fund Type is SMSF. Enter the electronic service address (ESA) for the self-managed super fund. The ESA acts as a unique digital alias for receiving SuperStream data.

Payment Method

The Payment Method field on the HQ Super Funds form.

Select the payment method for the fund from the dropdown menu. This field is required if the super fund is linked to a clearing house that uses the SAFF CSV file type.
