Use View Documents

Once you select a file to work on, you can select the View Documents tools to edit your files.

For information about layers and pages, see Layers and Pages.

The page that has a gold box around it in the preview pane is the current page which displays in the work area. Other selected pages have a blue box around them in the preview pane. Once finished with the View Documents screen, you can move on to other functions or exit the program.

The View Documents main window offers the following ribbon tools:

Select Page

After you open a file, use the Select Page buttons to move through the file and to select pages:

Select these buttons to select the page you want to see in the preview.

The status bar at the bottom of the screen displays the currently previewed page information.

Page Rotation

Once you have selected layers and pages, you can rotate the image on the current page, on selected pages, or on all pages on the file. You can rotate images clockwise or counterclockwise in 90 degree increments using the Page Rotation tool on the ribbon.

The thumbnail preview updates with your rotation settings.

Select (to rotate counterclockwise) or (to rotate clockwise) on the line that represents where you want to apply the rotation:

  • on the Current page

  • on the Selected pages

  • on All pages.

Use the Print option to open the Print dialog.
Note: The print function does not recognize layers and will print all layers.

Quick Export for DTO

Use the Quick Export for DTO option to quickly save images to your established default location in Digital Takeoff. To set export file naming options, see File / Options and Settings / DTO File Naming Preferences.

  • Select the checkbox next to the pages you want to export to Digital Takeoff.

  • Select Quick Export for DTO.

  • The selected images are saved using the default files settings and save to location established in Digital Takeoff.

  • The images you selected are listed in the Digital Takeoff Job Plans window.

Page Layout

These options let you specify the way you can view PDF pages. Select the pages in the Pages pane, and then select one of the options.

  • Single Page: Displays one page at a time. Use the status bar at the bottom of the main window or press PgUp and PgDn on your keyboard to move through the pages.

  • Single Continuous: Displays pages in a continuous vertical column that is one page wide. When you scroll down the page, you can see the top part of the next page. Use the scroll bar at the side of the main screen; the mouse wheel will not work to scroll up and down.

  • Side By Side: Displays two pages side by side. Use the status bar at the bottom of the main window or press PgUp and PgDn on your keyboard to move through the pages.

Tip: To quickly select all pages, in the Pages pane, right-click and select Check All.

Status Bar

At the bottom of the screen, the status bar shows:

  • the current page number.

  • for multi-page PDFs, next, previous, advance page buttons, and a slider bar.

  • the zoom level settings (you can also use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out).

  • the location and name of the PDF.

Drag Selections

From the View Documents screen, you can select and drag a page or multiple pages to a location outside of Advanced Image Manager, such as Windows Explorer or to an email message. This copies the file to the target location.

If you have one page open, the Drag/Drop icon is on the toolbar ribbon.

If you have more than one page selected, the Drag Selected icon is on the Pages pane.

You can set detailed options for the files you are copying in the PDF Drag/Drop Options window. Here is where you define whether to copy individual files or merge them and select the naming convention for these copied files.

You can choose to drag one page (the icon does not display) at a time or multiple pages at once to the target location:

  1. To drag one page:
    1. Ensure the page is open on the View Documents screen.
    2. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the page to another location, such as Windows Explorer or to an email message.
  2. To drag multiple pages:
    1. On the View Documents screen, select the checkbox next to each page you want to copy.
    2. Select the Drag Selected icon .
    3. Hold the left mouse button down and drag the pages to another location, such as the desktop, Windows Explorer or to an email message.
