Record the Outcome of a Bid

Whether you win the bid or not, you need to record the outcome of the bid by setting the bid stage to a status of won or lost.

Make all needed changes to a bid before you set its status to won or lost. Once you set the bid stage status, you can no longer modify the bid.
When you win a bid, use Enter Project Manager Worksheet to set up the project based on the bid information. This enables you to manage the new project in the accounting modules. You can also modify an existing project based on a newly won bid.
If you won the bid:
  1. Update the bid stage with the status of won and enter the date won in the Date Won/Lost field.
  2. Run Bidding Reports.
  3. Review the Bid Dashboard—a collection of charts and graphs showing details about your bids.
  4. Create a project from the successful bid.
Note: Once you select Create Data on the Enter Project Manager Worksheet to create the project, you can no longer modify the project manager worksheet.
  5. Modify a Project.
  6. Manually create a Customer Lien Notice.
If you lost the bid:
  1. Update the bid stage with the status of lost.
  2. Enter the following details:
    • In the Date Won/Lost field, enter the date lost.
    • In the Lost To field, enter the entity who won the bid.
    • In the Lost Reason field, enter the reason the bid was lost.
  3. Run Bidding Reports.
