Modify a voided payroll transaction

You can modify a voided payroll check as long as it hasn't been posted yet.

  1. Open the Void Payroll Checks and Advices screen.
  2. Note the active company. If you want to change it, click in the header and select the appropriate company.
  3. In the Check/Advice Number field, do one of the following:
    • Enter the number of the voided payroll transaction you want to modify and press Tab.

    • Click to select the voided payroll transaction you want to modify from a Lookup List.

  4. Review the payroll transaction details as described on the Void Payroll Checks and Advices Screen Field Reference.
  5. In the Posting Group field, do one of the following:
    • Enter the code of the posting group for the voided payroll transaction.

    • Click to select the posting group for the voided payroll transaction from a Lookup List.

  6. In the Posting Date field, enter the posting date for the voided payroll transaction or click to select the date from a Date Picker. The posting date is the date the voided transaction affects the general ledger.
    Important: The posting date of the void cannot be earlier than the posting date of the original transaction.
  7. In the Void Transaction Date field, enter the transaction date for the void or click to select the date from a Date Picker .
  8. In the Memo field, enter any comments or notes about the voided payroll transaction.
  9. Click Save Void.
    Note: If the Void Transaction Date is earlier than the original Check Date, a confirmation message appears. To save the void with the dates entered, click Yes. To cancel the void, click No.
