Default Project screen

Use the Default Project screen to set up a default project. ProContractor uses these default project values when you create a new project and when you import data from Excel or QuickBooks.

For example, suppose you entered a value of COST in the Percent Complete Method field for your default project. When you get external project data for an import, ProContractor inserts a value of COST in the Percent Complete Method field of any project that has a null value (that is, no value) for that field.

You can enter one default project for each company defined in ProContractor.

Note: To open the Default Project screen, click Projects > Setup > Default Project in the All Tasks pane.
Note: The Default Project screen is a step in the Project Setup process. The next step can vary:
  • If you want to import project data from QuickBooks, the Import Data screen is the next step.
  • If you want to import project data from an Excel or TSV file, the Import Setup Data screen is the next step.
  • If you don't want to import project data (and will be entering projects manually), the Project screen is the next step.
