Create a project with a manually entered project number

If you have entered values on the Default Project screen, ProContractor uses those values when you create a project.

  1. Open the Project screen.
  2. Note the active company. If you want to change it, click in the header and select the appropriate company.
  3. In the Project field, enter a code of up to eight alphanumeric characters to identify the project.
Note: Alphanumeric characters include the letters A through Z, the numerals 0 through 9, and all special characters except comma, dash, period, percent, tilde, and single quote. In addition, the code cannot begin or end with a space.

Viewpoint recommends using unique project numbers across companies when possible.

  4. Press Tab.
  5. In the Name field, enter the name of the project.

The project name should be unique and descriptive enough that other users can easily identify it in a lookup list. As a best practice, you should always give projects unique names across companies.

  6. Complete the fields as described on the Project Screen Field Reference.
  7. Click Save Project.
Note: If the Lien Management Review Required checkbox for this screen is selected on the Lien Management Settings screen, you must view the Lien Notices tab before saving the entry.
