Import .SHP Shapefiles

Follow these steps to import shapefiles (.shp) from Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) into Object Manager.

ESRI shapefiles use a popular geospatial vector data format for geographic information systems. ESRI shapefiles are used to import point, line, polygon, and feature data into your project.
Source Feature Type catalogs include Esri ASCII GRID and Esri Shape.
Note: To avoid errors when importing data from an ESRI shapefile, the coordinate system specified in your project must match the coordinate system specified in the shapefile.
  1. Follow the general steps in Import Files.
  2. Specify options in the DWG Reader Settings Editor's Import Settings.
  3. Select OK.
  4. Complete additional steps in Import Files.
  5. Select Finish.
