Grid Location

Area

Click to select the area to view.

Note: Upon opening the Grid tab, Viewpoint Estimating automatically zooms in on the area selected in the Area field. To view the entire site instead of only a small part of it, select Site Perimeter in the Area field.

Intersection Point

Click to select the point you want to use as the starting point for the grid. By default, this point is the lower left corner of the area.

If you want to specify a point different than the lower left corner of the area, you must first create a reference point. See Matchline Point Manager screen for more information.

Grid Spacing

Equal Grid Spacing

Select the checkbox to use equal spacing on the grid. You can specify the spacing using either the X Grid or Y Grid field.

If you do not select the checkbox, specify the spacing to use in both the X Grid and Y Grid fields.

X Grid

Click to enter the number of linear feet for the horizontal spacing of a cell in the grid.

If you selected the Equal Grid Spacing checkbox, the X Grid field and the Y Grid field automatically update to display the same number.

If you didn't select the Equal Grid Spacing checkbox, you can set the X Grid spacing and Y Grid spacing independently.

Y Grid

Click to enter the number of linear feet for the vertical spacing of a cell in the grid.

If you selected the Equal Grid Spacing checkbox, the X Grid field and the Y Grid field automatically update to display the same number.

If you didn't select the Equal Grid Spacing checkbox, you can set the X Grid spacing and Y Grid spacing independently.

Area Size

Displays the total size of the selected area.

Grid Size

Displays the total number of cells in the grid.
