External organisations were previously called enterprise organisations. An external organisation identifies a specific business in Field View. An organisation needs to be in your enterprise library before it can be added to a project.

For example, you might use Smith Plumbing as a subcontractor for the plumbing work on a job. If Smith Plumbing is not in the list of organisation, you would need to add it. Your business is an organisation in Field View.

Organisations are stored in your enterprise library. You have to assign organizations to a project to be able to use them on that project. Organisations that were in the systems library have been moved to your enterprise.
