Vista 2024 R1.02

This release contains tax routine changes for Iowa and Louisiana, as well as bug fixes that apply to all geographies.

2025 Tax Updates

The following tax routines have changes that require release in a service pack rather than a tax update. If you need these tax updates, make sure you install this service pack, as these updates will not be included in any Vista 2025 tax updates.

Updated Tax Routine for Iowa (US only)

Effective Date: 1/1/2025

Procedure Name: bspPRIAT25

The state withholding formula and IA W-4 form have been revised for tax year 2025. These updates reflect changes to the state law, which require a 3.80% flat tax rate on Iowa individual income, beginning in 2025.

Additionally, the standard deduction amount is now based on the taxpayer's marital status on the IA W-4 (previously calculated based on the allowances amount reported on the W-4).

It is recommended that employees file with the new 2025 IA W-4 form, however, the 2025 tax routine also supports employees who do not have an up-to-date W-4. The routine includes additional calculations to account for IA W-4s on file from 2023 or earlier.

For additional information, see the Iowa section of the Payroll tax tables.

Updated Tax Routine for Louisiana (US only)

Effective Date: 1/1/2025

Procedure Name: bspPRLAT25

As of January, 2025, Louisiana will no longer be using tax brackets to determine standard deductions. Standard deductions will be based on the employee's marital status (filing status) rather than the Regular and Additional exemptions.

When setting up an employee's filing status for the Louisiana deduction code (in PR Employees, Filing Status tab), use one of the following:

  • Blank = Not claiming a standard deduction
  • S = Single or Married-Separate
  • M = Married-Joint Return, Qualified Surviving Spouse, or Head of Household

For more information, see the Louisiana section of the Payroll tax tables.
