Equipment Settings screen

To open the Equipment Settings screen, click Equipment > Setup > Equipment Settings in the All Tasks pane.

Use the Equipment Settings screen to control various equipment settings, including:

  • Inactive Equipment Password: An equipment item with a status of Inactive is typically unavailable for posting. You can set a password that will be required in order to save an entry associated with an inactive equipment item.

  • Enable Cost Posting Account and Overhead Control: By default, ProContractor checks the five levels of the equipment cost posting account hierarchy to determine the cost account in an equipment-related entry. You can control which levels of the hierarchy will be checked. The levels are:

    • Cost Type

    • Equipment Classification

    • Equipment Classification Cost Code

    • Equipment

    • Equipment Cost Code

  • Enable Usage Posting Account Control: By default, ProContractor checks the two levels of the equipment usage posting hierarchy to determine the usage account in an equipment-related entry. You can control which levels of the hierarchy will be checked. The levels are:

    • Equipment Classification

    • Equipment

Note: The Equipment Settings screen is a step in the initial setup process. The Cost Type screen is the next step.
