Best Practice: Changing your email address with a new business domain

Modified: 16 Jul 2026 Trimble Connect
Context: The pitfall of a new email domain When your company switches to a new email domain, the logical (but incorrect!) reaction of many users is to immediately register a brand new Trimble Identity (TID) with this new address. This causes immediate login issues: you lose access to your existing Trimble Connect projects, and your assigned software licenses (such as Stabicad) will no longer work because they are linked to your old account.
Choose the scenario below that applies to you to safely transfer your data.
Scenario A: You have NOT YET created a new account (The ideal route) To securely retain all your permissions and data, you simply need to update the email address within your existing profile.
  1. Navigate to your personal Trimble profile at: myprofile.trimble.com.
  2. Log in using your old (current) email address and password.
  3. Go to your profile settings and change your email address to the new domain.
  4. You will receive a verification email at your new address. Once confirmed, all your project data and license access will transfer immediately.
Scenario B: You have accidentally ALREADY created a new account (Recovery procedure) You can only change an existing email address to an address that does not yet exist in the Trimble system. Because you have already registered the new address, you are currently stuck. Follow these steps to resolve this:
  1. Log in to myprofile.trimble.com using your new email address.
  2. Go to your profile settings and choose to completely delete this (new, empty) account.
  3. Important: Trimble applies a safety period (grace period) of 72 hours (3 days) when an account is deleted. During this time, the new email address remains reserved in the system. You must wait out these 3 days.
  4. After 72 hours, log in to myprofile.trimble.com using your old email address.
  5. You can now successfully change your email address to your new domain.
