Copy settings to another Revit project, transfer project standards
Not version-specific
Stabicad
Issue:
The families are on the right place and the product lines are imported. But still the warning: "Unable to create pipe or duct for article ..." is given when you want to draw a duct, pipe or cable tray.
Causes:
This could happen when the project isn't based on a Stabicad Template. It is possible to transfer the settings, for example duct sizes, cable tray settings, or pipe types, from a project with a Stabicad Template. You can also transfer view templates.
Solution:
You can transfer this settings with the function: Transfer Project Standards.
- Open the Revit project with the issue.
- Open a new Stabicad template project in the same session.
- Activate the Revit project with the issue.
- Go to Manage -> Transfer Project Standards.
- Select at Copy From the new StabiCAD project.
- Click Check None.
- If all the standards need to be transferred keep everything checked
- If only part of the standard needs to be transferred: click Check None.
- Choose the settings to transfer. If the problem occurs only with a certain pipe type it’s possible to choose only the standards beginning with ‘pipes’.
Note
- Selecting less standards reduces possible side effects of transferring standards for the existing model.
- All settings with the same name will be overwritten when you choose 'Overwrite'. Another option is to choose for 'new only'. Then only the settings that are different will be imported.
- If you use transfer project standards to transfer the generic pipes/ducts/ cable tray types to a customers not-Stabicad template make sure to also transfer project info from the Stabicad template. (without overwrite). By doing this you will transfer the projectparameter 'S4R_Use_nominal_diameter' to the customers project. This parameter is necessary to draw DN pipes with the correct sizes.
Here an overview is presented of the standards available for transfer:
