Create custom linetype
Not version-specific
Problem:
Stabicad
The Stabicad pallet center does not contain the desired pipetype/ lintype. How can I create a custom linetype?
Solution:
To create a desired lintetype in Autocad take the following steps. Close Stabicad to proceed.
- Go through installation files to \\Trimble\StabiCAD NL\Bin Or \\Stabiplan\StabiCAD NL\Bin
- Look up the 2322.lin file.
- In this document the linetypes are determined. Open it with notepad.
- Search for the desired line type.
- Copy this line type, paste the line type at the end of the script.
- Change the name. In this example the name is changed to 2322NS22_a. But this can be a name of your choice.

- Apply the following steps on the linetype:
- Change the linetype name (1*)
- Determine the amount of spaces and dashes. Fill in the amount of dashes(2*) and spaces (3*). The - mark is the space. These numbers combined is a code.

- Open Stabibase
- Go to Manage > Pipe Types.
- Scroll down to Custom pipe type 1. If this already occupied, select another Custom pipe type.
- Click on “Edit preferences…" and fill in necessary the fields.
- Click on Manage > Layers and search for Custom pipe Type 1 (or an other chosen custom type pipe).
- Choose the line type and click on Edit…. Click next on Line type and choose the type you created in step 1.
- Open a drawing and go in Stabicad pallet to Piping > Custom pipe types > Vrij1. If you chose other custom pipe type, choose the correct pipe type. For example if you chose Custom pipe Type 12 click on Vrij 12.
