Digital Takeoff Plans Are Blurry or Illegible when Importing Using AIM.

Issue

When images imported into Digital Takeoff with the Advanced Image Manager (AIM) are blurry or unable to be read, increasing the resolution, or dots per square inch (DPI) in AIM will usually resolve the issue.

Process

  1. Using Sheets in Digital Takeoff, open up the PDF, launching AIM.
  2. On the Preview/Adjust tab, drop down the DPI box.
  3. Choose a higher Resolution. It is not recommended to choose the highest Resolution unless needed, since the performance speed of DigitalTakeoff may be adversely impacted.
  4. Export to Digital Takeoff.

Note: The next PDF imported will automatically default to the previous setting. Generally, the recommendation is to use the lowest DPI that provides the necessary clarity.
