How to: Draw and code bus systems (Domotics) and sensors in AutoCAD
Not version-specific
Stabicad
Context With Stabicad you can place bus symbols (such as actuators or sensors) for domotics installations. You can also add domotics intelligence to regular installation symbols, such as lighting fixtures or switches.
Phase A: Add bus properties to standard symbols
- Select a regular symbol in your drawing (e.g., a two-way switch or fixture) to which you want to add bus functionality.
- In the palette, go to the Tools tab and click on Add bus properties.
- In the pop-up window, choose the desired Bus type (e.g., Sensor, Actuator, or Consumer) and check Draw rectangle if desired.
- Then double-click the symbol to fill in the properties further. Under the Bus system heading, enter the Bus load (mA), the Number of inputs, and specific functions via Free text 1 (e.g., 'Large room On').
Phase B: Automatically code bus symbols To number the symbols logically, use the automatic coding function.
- In the Bus system palette, go to the Tools tab and click on Code bus system symbols.
- On the command line, choose the Manage codings option (type 'B').
- Check whether the structure is set to Range.Line.Sequence number and adjust the start value if necessary via the Modify... button.
- Click OK and select the bus symbols in your drawing to number them sequentially.
