How to Fix Display, Resolution & DPI Issues for Advanced Image Manager (AIM) & Most Windows Applications

Windows display settings can cause issues with the way some programs display. Parts of the windows may not be visible, text truncated, and buttons to click missing. These instructions may resolve the issues for specific applications.

Windows display settings set to a high resolution and Scale & Layout to values greater than 100% can result in display errors like these from Advanced Image Manager (AIM):

Follow these steps which will fix these issues in most cases for most applications:
- Navigate to the location where the executable for the program is located - for example, Advanced Image Manager: C:\Program Files\Trimble\Advanced Image Manager 64Bit
- Right-click on the executable (AdvancedImageManager.exe) and select Properties
- Select the Compatibility tab at the top
- Click Change high DPI settings
- Check the box for Override high DPI scaling behavior
- Select System from the drop-down for Scaling performed by:
- Click OK
- Click Apply
- Display issues should now be improved
- If the issues persist, it may be necessary to adjust the overall Windows Display Properties by adjusting Scale & Layout (Change the size of text, apps, and other items) to 100% and then adjust the Display Resolution to an acceptable setting
- For Trimble Cloud customers, it may be necessary to:
- Close program on PC.
- Close out of cloud application or web portal.
- Remotely, sign user out of Trimble cloud instance.
- Follow the steps listed above.
- Restart PC.
