Context Everyone working within the Trimble Admin Console is assigned a specific role, which determines exactly what actions they can perform. By assigning the correct roles, you ensure your IT staff can manage software access without exposing sensitive financial or subscription data. Here is a breakdown of the different roles and their permissions.
1. Account Owner (Primary Administrator) This role is assigned by default to the person who purchased the Stabicad subscription. The Account Owner is the primary point of contact and has absolute control.
  • Permissions: Can perform all actions. This includes adding/removing users, assigning all roles, managing product licenses, changing subscriptions (upgrades/downgrades), viewing invoices, and managing payment methods.
  • Limit: There is only 1 Account Owner per account.
2. Secondary Account Owner This role is ideal for a co-manager, financial director, or primary IT lead who needs full visibility.
  • Permissions: A Secondary Account Owner can perform all the exact same actions as the primary Account Owner, including viewing billing and managing subscriptions. The only restriction is that they cannot change or remove the primary Account Owner.
3. License Admin This is the most common role for BIM Coordinators or standard IT personnel who need to facilitate the daily engineering work.
  • Permissions: A License Admin can add or remove users and safely assign or revoke Stabicad product licenses. They can also elevate other users to License Admins.
  • Restrictions: They do not have access to financial data. They cannot view invoices, manage payment methods, or alter the online subscriptions.
4. Product User This is the standard role for your drafters and engineers. They do not have access to the management features of the Admin Console; they only receive the license required to run the Stabicad software.
How to change a role
  1. Log in to the Admin Console and go to the Users tab.
  2. Click the three dots next to a user and select Edit user.
  3. Check the 'Edit' in the permissions card.
  4. Change the role to your desired permission level and
  5. save the changes.
