Content: Welcome to Stabicad! Are you a new user or installing Stabicad on a new PC? Follow this brief step-by-step guide to get up and running quickly.
Step 1: Check system requirements Ensure your computer and potential server environment meet the minimum requirements for Stabicad, AutoCAD/Revit, and Microsoft SQL Server.
Step 2: Check your license You should have received an email with a license assignment for one of the Stabicad packages.
Step 3: Download the software The latest version of Stabicad can be downloaded via the Support Portal. Please note: the download page is only visible to the registered Delivery Contact within your company.
Step 4: Choose the correct installation type Run the downloaded StabicadSetup.exe. In the first screen of the wizard, you must choose between an Express installation (everything local) or an Advanced local installation (connected to a network). It is crucial that you make the right choice here that fits your company environment.
Step 5: First steps in StabiBASE (Initializing Add-ins) After installation, open StabiBASE (the project explorer). To load the Stabicad buttons (palettes) in CAD, or to activate the Stabicad add-in (Ribbon) in Revit, you must launch a drawing or model from within StabiBASE at least once.
  1. (For CAD users only): In the top menu, go to Manage > StabiBASE Settings.... On the General tab under CAD platform, select your AutoCAD or Stabicad CAD-platform version. (This is not required for Revit; the Revit version is automatically determined by the project file).
  2. Go to File > New and create a Profile.
  3. Select the newly created profile, go to File > New and create a Project underneath it.
  4. Select the project, go to File > New and choose Drawing (.dwg) or Revit Project (.rvt).
  5. Open this new file by double-clicking it. Result: StabiBASE will now automatically configure the correct CAD profile or place the required Revit add-in in the background, after which your drawing software will launch with all Stabicad functionalities ready to use!
Step 6: Set up the Custom folder The 'Custom folder' is a central folder on your computer or server where all your personal or company-specific settings, frames, title blocks, and custom symbols are stored. This folder will not be overwritten during an update. You can set the location of this folder via Manage > StabiBASE Settings > General.
