How to: Perform a silent installation of Stabicad using SCCM or Intune
Not version-specific
Stabicad
Context & Preparation Before deploying Stabicad via SCCM or Intune, the SQL Server Database must already be set up as the central truth for project metadata and settings. Due to the size of Stabicad, a Local installation is strongly advised for users connecting via WAN, WIFI, or VPN. All necessary components are located in the Stabicad download files. Please note: the commands below are examples; always check file names, paths, and SQL references for your specific situation.
Phase A: Installing Prerequisites It is advised to install Autodesk products first. After that, install the following components (adjust the paths to your source files):
"VC Redistributables\2012\vcredist_x64.exe" /quiet"VC Redistributables\2013\update 4\vcredist_x64.exe" /quiet"VC Redistributables\2013\update 5\vcredist_x64.exe" /quiet"VC Redistributables\2019\vcredist_x64.exe" /quiet"Crystal Reports\CRRuntime_64bit_13_0_27.msi" /qn ALLUSERS="1" MSIFASTINSTALL="7" UPGRADE="1""Crystal Reports\CRRuntime_64bit_13_0_27.msi" /qn ALLUSERS="1" MSIFASTINSTALL="7" REPAIR="1"
Phase B: Client installation (Only for wired LAN connections) First, perform a full Network Installation of Stabicad on your server. Then use the following MSI command to roll out the shortcuts:
"Client installation\Stabicad Client\Stabicad x64.msi" /qn ALLUSERS="1" INSTALLDIR="\\Servername\Sharename\Apps\Stabicad NL\"(If the network path is unreachable due to the security context, it is supported to deploy a custom script that creates a shortcut targeting _Stabibase.exe in the \BIN folder on the network).
Phase C: Local installation (Laptops / Remote workers) Pay close attention to the Stabicad version you are installing:
- Version 24.07 and lower:
"Stabicad\StabicadMSI x64.msi" /qn ALLUSERS="1" ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT="1" MSIFASTINSTALL="7" INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Trimble\Stabicad NL\" INSTALLATIONTYPE="Local" SQLSERVER_SERVER="YOUR-SERVER" SQLSERVER_DATABASE="Stabicad_NL" SQLSERVER_WINDOWSAUTHENTICATION="False" SQLSERVER_USERNAME="sa" SQLSERVER_PASSWORD="YOUR-PASSWORD" PLI_SPECIFIC="false" ENABLEIMPROVESTABICAD="true" KEEP_DOTNET_POLICIES="false" INSTALLSTCPLATFORM="false" ISPLAINTEXT="true" - Version 24.08 and higher:
"StabicadMSI x64.msi" /qn ALLUSERS="1" ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT="1" MSIFASTINSTALL="7" INSTALLDIR="D:\apps\stabicad2408encrypted" INSTALLATIONTYPE="Local" SQLSERVER_CONNECTIONSTRING_NOPASSWORD="database=YOUR-DB;server=YOUR-SERVER\stabicad2017;Connect Timeout=30;User ID=sa;Trusted_Connection=false;Pooling=true;Encrypt=false" SQLSERVER_PASSWORD="YOUR-ENCRYPTED-PW" ENABLEIMPROVESTABICAD="true" KEEP_DOTNET_POLICIES="false" INSTALLSTCPLATFORM="false" PLI_SPECIFIC="false" ISPLAINTEXT="false"
Phase D: Administrative install (Version 24.08+) An administrative installation does not register the MSI, does not create shortcuts, and allows multiple Stabicad versions on the same PC (shortcuts should be manually targeted to the \Bin folder):
C:\Windows\system32\msiexec.exe /a "StabicadMSI x64.msi" TARGETDIR="D:\apps\stabicadadmin\" /qn /l*v "%Temp%\Stabicad_x64.log" INSTALLDIR="D:\apps\stabicadadmin\" INSTALLATIONTYPE="Local" SQLSERVER_CONNECTIONSTRING_NOPASSWORD="database=Stabicad_NL;server=YOUR-SERVER\stabicad2017;Connect Timeout=30;User ID=sa;Trusted_Connection=false;Pooling=true;Encrypt=false" SQLSERVER_PASSWORD="YOUR-PASSWORD" PLI_SPECIFIC="false" PRODESIGN3DDETECTED="false" ENABLEIMPROVESTABICAD="false" KEEP_DOTNET_POLICIES="false" INSTALLSTCPLATFORM="false" ISPLAINTEXT="true"
Important notice for Revit users: As a heads up, do not forget to distribute the Revit families! These are separate downloads that need to be unzipped and placed in the
\families subfolder where Stabicad is installed.
