Stabicad named user and browsers
Problem:
Trimble products such as StabiBase, Stabicad, CADplatform and the Revit/AutoCAD add-ins activate named-user licenses via your default browser in Windows. Many users don’t know which browser is set as default or have cookie settings that clear on exit, causing repeated login and licensing issues.
Solution (step-by-step):
-
Set your default browser
• Go to Settings > Apps > Default apps
• Under “Web browser,” choose Edge, Chrome, or Firefox

Keep cookies
• Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data > disable “Clear cookies and site data when you quit Chrome”
Source: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?hl=en
• Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > uncheck “Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed”
Source: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enable-and-disable-cookies-website-preferences -
Sign in with your Trimble ID
• Launch Stabicad (or StabiBase/CADplatform/add-in)
• Click “Sign in” in the login window and complete authentication in the default browser
• Keep the browser open until confirmation -
Check and refresh your license
In Stabicad:
• Help > About Stabicad > License Information
In StabiBase:
• Tools > License Details (view current license)
• Tools > Activation Wizard (actively fetch/renew license)
Admins:
• Help > License Overview… (opens the online license portal in browser)
