Error

When completing a migration of Estimation Desktop, upon first opening the program, an error is received "This installation of Estimation Desktop does not appear to be configured correctly. The path 'C: Program Files (x86)\Viewpoint\MEP Estimating\UserData\' does not exist or does not contain the correct user data directories."

Solution

A folder is missing from the UserData folder.

  1. Confirm the following folders are available in UserData
    • ConversionBackup
    • Data
    • Default
    • Estimation
    • Jobs
    • PriceUpdate
    • ReportTemplates
    • Settings
    • Template
  2. If any are missing, especially the ones in bold, first confirm that all data has been copied correctly from the source PC. Re-migrate data, if needed.
  3. Create the missing folder in UserData.
  4. Reattempt to open Estimation Desktop.
  5. Verify all parts of the program are functioning correctly.
