Troubleshooting: Refresh SyncData for synchronization issues in Trimble Connect Sync

Modified: 2 Jun 2026 Trimble Connect
Problem: Sometimes, the Sync Preview of a schedule shows inconsistencies: files that have not been changed or updated are incorrectly selected for upload/download.
Solution: Besides taking into account the general 'Trimble Connect Sync Best Practices' for Connect Sync, it often helps to refresh the SyncData that is tracked for the project.
Step 1: Identify the SyncData folder of the project
  1. In a web browser, go to the project in Trimble Connect.
  2. Identify the ProjectID in the address bar of your browser (this is the string of letters and numbers after /projects/).

Step 2: Delete the local folder
  1. Close the Trimble Connect Sync app.
  2. Open the Windows Task Manager and close the Trimble.Connect.SyncTool process (via 'End task').

  1. In the Windows Explorer, go to the following location: %LocalAppData%\Trimble\Trimble Connect Sync\SyncData.
  2. Select and remove the folder that exactly matches the ProjectID found in step 1. [Image: Windows Explorer overview of the SyncData folders where the folder 'oy3Tr4-hNZc' is selected]

Step 3: Restart Restart the Sync app and try syncing the schedule again.
